Acres of Peace is a growing foundation that supports the revitalization of environmental ecosystems and land restoration. We believe people can live where they work and improve the natural balance using co-operation, compassion and natural solutions.
Acres of Peace has the mission of demonstrating the economic and social advantages of compassion and cooperation. We encourage people to form family-clan groups by living in eco-friendly hamlets with shared goals and values. By working with the natural order of things to restore balanced ecosystems we improve the quality of life for all living things. Our vision is to co-create many Peace Hamlets, scattered across every county.
Acres of Peace has grown from countless hours of research and vision. Our goal is to demonstrate the reality of a sustainable life lived with heartfelt connection to our surroundings, ultimately planning for county wide land restoration.
Acres of Peace offers to assist the formation and operation of eco-friendly, peaceful operations we like to call Peace Hamlets. We provide inspiration and stories that help people grow their own earth friendly set of living arrangements. Our focus is on healing; the land, eco-systems and our people.
We strive to legalize and legitimize eco-friendly lifestyle choices by demonstrating the practicality of living in peaceful hamlets with members sharing collective goals relevant to earth-friendly strategies. Organizing and operating the first proof of concept Peace Hamlets allows us to build the framework for continued growth of many more interlinked hamlets. For less money than the cost of one single family home, an entire eco-friendly hamlet can be initiated, like planting a seed. Once initiated a community grows as it goes. Generally 2-3 years is adequate to get the grow operations producing favorably. Building and/or repairing dwellings may occur over time.
We intend to put many small pieces together into a bigger picture and communicate the many possibilities for improving our ‘lot in life’ collectively. We look at what hasn’t worked, what could work and what is working. We employ technologies, ancient and modern, social, physical and meta-physical to guide sustainable alignment with natural ecosystems. We are developing both a roadmap for land management and recipes for successful productivity. We offer to illuminate a path through the perceived obstacles. These obstacles are not substantial or reasonable when examined logically. Most are simply the result of uninformed negative public opinion and lack of experience with eco-friendly ideology. Acres of Peace provides information, directions for action and inspiration to empower people to take action.

Acres of Peace - sustainable values and goals
Values and goals form a basis for guiding our actions and communications. Our goal is to normalize the values of eco-friendly living across all demographics. Cooperation is required to achieve local sufficiency and sustainability. We can do this together. There are many ways people can apply values to reach goals. What follows are ideas we are developing. These are guidelines presented as food for thought. Each Peace Hamlet is encouraged to co-create the guidelines that serve their specific time and place. By taking a deep look at social practices we can move toward finding shared goals and values. Acres of Peace offers the following exploration of issues that affect people moving toward a more cooperative and compassionate way of life.
Life of E.A.S.E. Earth As Sentient Entity
The earth, including humans and all living things are interconnected, interdependent. We
are all made of the same ‘stuff’. We are all in the same BIG boat. We are connected to the
stars, to molecules, DNA, to our ancestors and our descendants. Every decision must
weigh the factors of our interdependence and connection to guide our mindful uses of
resources. This must be considered in every decision.
Everyone is important
Everyone has talents, is valuable, wants to feel included and needs to be fed. Sharing our
many talents, we are better together.
Earth friendly activities
We strive to ‘do things’ in an earth friendly way. Activities such as: growing food,
building, making products, offering services, restoration and clean-up are planned to
cause least harm and most help to the environment.
We are better together
Co-operative economics and self governance
Economic interdependence will lead us to economic independence. The governing of the
hamlet will likely entwine with the economic activities.
Each hamlet may set their own method of working together and sharing the fruits of our
labor. We recommend an internal system of money exchange we like to call Grace Notes.
We recommend project driven activities with distributed pay out.
Compassionate communication
Peace is spoken here. Using compassionate awareness, we encourage peaceful arbitration
and mediation. There are ‘wise ways’ to guide us, both ancient and emerging. There are
tools for healthy group dynamics. The peacemaker way provides historical wisdom.
Sharing resources
Identifying the many resources we can share to help keep costs down, most especially the
cost to the earth. The community center, roads/paths, tools, vehicles, office equipment,
lawn mower, gardening/farming equipment, are some of the resources that can be shared.
Good security
A compound or hamlet will want to have adequate security. Internal security can be set
up to the members satisfaction. All people on campus are residents or guests, except in
public places. Our internal peacekeepers will likely liaison with local peacekeepers.
No garbage in, no garbage out
Many find it hard to imagine a life without trash. It is possible.
Off grid
We recommend off-grid when possible. Hamlets will choose how much to stay on the
power grid: none, partial or total. Many will have power to the community building and
possible other public places, and enjoy electric free residential areas. We seek to
encourage and employ self perpetuating, natural systems for power generation.
Affordable housing & timeshare
Acres of Peace can offer affordable housing and just in time housing to all levels of
economic offering. As the network of hamlets grows into something like Airbnb or Camp It or Harvest Host
Planning to Place
Strategically planning to place people, things and activities where they are best served.
By managing the larger land holdings, each county (or area of land) will be able to plan
for land use along with selection of the people to live and work there. We encourage
thoughtful planning of member recruitment and member placement. Looking at skills and
lifestyle preference we strive to place people into groups that will thrive, not dive.
Flush toilets
Not recommended except in public places perhaps. We recommend composting toilets
when feasible.
These are some of the considerations and issues we will be facing in the journey toward living in a more earth friendly way. We want to find the best solution for each situation. This is not carved in stone, only an initial offering, food for thought. Our goal is to normalize the practical values of eco-friendly living across all demographics.
